Amir Hossein Nouri, a 36-year-old Iranian artist who has recently had a strong presence in the world arena, won three international awards in less than a month.

He won the title of “Middle East Artist” in the World Intercontinental Awards by presenting the song “White Dream”. He also won the Best International Song of the Month award at the American Track Music Awards two weeks later. His song didn’t stop there and he won another award on “Akademia Awards” (USA California) for best pop song of Month , August 2021. A Farsi song wining such awards shoes a pattern which may have been obscured before.

Perhaps in the past, the musical tastes of the people of each country were different from other countries due to the cultural, historical, and geographical background and language of that country. Over the past few decades, we have seen the presence of artists whose works are heard all over the world. Works that sometimes the audience does not even know the language (concept) of its, but understand its soulful music and audio charms.

However, the globalization of pop music, with the expansion of the media into the music industry, like many other industries that were more commercialized, has its own costs. Perhaps the most important of them is the out proportion chance of local talent in powerful countries ( in the field of music ) over other countries, as well as the tendency of music studios and producers to popularize art at a level that has faster and more profitable results, economically. Nevertheless, many committed artists around the world continued to strive to preserve artistic concepts, especially the efforts of artists to flourish in the hearts of Third World countries by composing and singing for human concerns causes to create meaningful works in the world’s intellectual community.

Amir Hossein Nouri was born in Tehran on September 23rd, 1985, and started his professional activities in 1998 at the age of 14. Most of his activities are focused on composing and singing. In addition to his artistic activities. he started his music project in 2009 to give hope to children with Special diseases ( Cancer and autism) in Iran and has been performing in countries such as India with the hope of spreading his message further. In 2019, the first song of the “White Dream” project with the same name was released. With the increase of Amir Hossein Nouri’s international activities and the publication of his songs internationally, new opportunities for him appeared to participate in international festivals. His tireless efforts flourished in 2021, despite two difficult decades. Works that have now reached greater maturity, both in the field of composition and in the field of singing. Her efforts to continue this path and write music with human meanings are accompanied by global achievements.

Now it seems that our world needs more than ever the awareness of a new generation of artists from different countries to bring their indigenous yet universal experiences. Artists who, although with great difficulty, make a name for themselves in world music and need more support and attention from the international community, but their presence, although small, creates new spaces in music and reflects the concerns of life in other countries.

Admittedly, indigenous artists from powerful countries often do not have the difficult experience of living in different countries, and the concerns of many people around the world always remain in the local songs of those lands. Experiences that create great works that, if heard, can reach the hearts of millions of people around the world. Like the work of Amir Hossein Nouri’s “White Dream”, which has been sung to give hope to children with cancer, who face different concerns in third world countries, and gradually, as this artist became better known, he will find his place in the heart of world music.

The Imagination of Ancient Empire of Iran: Philosophical Poetry of Omar Khayyam and Legendary Voice of Amir Hossein Nouri

Nowadays, there is less of a name and recognition for the role of Iranians in world culture and art. Contrary to popular belief, Iran has a high level of cultural diversity. Although located in the Middle East, it is a country with four seasons. Beautiful with an ancient history, which had one of the great empires of the world. The country which originated with the first human rights document by Cyrus the Great (founder and first king of the Achaemenes Empire) in 538 BC, as well as the source of the threefold slogan of Zoroaster (Iranian prophet who is the founder of one of the oldest religions in the world) with the mantra of “Good speech, a good deed and good thought.”

Part of the Zoroastrian belief is to become “Ashwan” which means that every human being must spread happiness in the world around self because happiness helps the good forces in the fight against evil. With the passage of two thousand years of cultural change, some of these beliefs still have a fundamental place in Iranian culture. Iran has a collection of the oldest celebrations in the world. Nowruz, the beginning of spring (the astronomical moment when spring begins) or Yalda, the celebration of the longest night of the year ( Iranians celebrate the longest night of the year until dawn, hoping to spend the black night until the dawn of tomorrow). The Iranians used the astronomical calendar to hold such ceremonies, and Omar Khayyam calculated the most accurate solar calendar during his lifetime.

Omar Khayyam Neyshabouri has not only been a prominent astronomer, mathematician, and philosopher, but many in the world know him for his poetry collection. Iran used to be known for its artists who are famous in the world. The more prominent form of art in Iran is literature and poetry, where great poets such as Rumi, Ferdowsi, Saadi, Hafez, and Khayyam are an essential part of the identity of Iranian culture. Poetry also has a special place in the daily life of Iranians. With the passage of generations, it is passed down, from generation to next generation.

Inspired by these historical and cultural roots, Amir Hossein Nouri, a young Iranian artist, has created new works with the poems of the great Iranian poets. An artist who has an exceptional voice and unique art of composing. He has relied on the fusion of indigenous knowledge and what he has learned from the world’s largest art universities, reflecting a new role of musical fusion.

Looking at his activities and abilities, he has a chance to find his space on the global stage.

These activities include years of humanitarian work under a project called the “White Dream” which aims to give hope to children with a specific illness, which he co-founded. On the other hand, he is currently undergoing various formal courses at the United Nations and children’s rights organizations to advance his humanitarian goals. He is exploring and combining different styles for performing and composing music, where the old and new worlds meet. He states that his goal is to create music and song like the ancient Iranians of Ashavan, to create hope and awareness for building a better world.

Khayyam’s song is the first work of his new collection, which is composed entirely of the poems of the great poets of Iran. Potentially a world-class work that removes the dust of the history of ancient Iran which combines and covers music in a wide geographical area. This work has used two couplets by Hakim Omar Khayyam in Persian and English as the main Lyrics of the song. This track will be available to those interested soon.

Khayyam reminds the world of humanism and capturing the moments of life by composing his rubaiyat. He calls humans the jewel of creation and invites man to a happier life. Khayyam’s quatrains have been translated into most of the living languages of the world. In the West, Khayyam’s poems are mostly known by translations of Edward Fitzgerald, which two hundred years after its publication is still considered the best translation of Khayyam’s works. Over the centuries, Khayyam still has an influential place in today’s world, from appearing in Dr. Martin Luther King’s speech to modern astronomy.

Although, the rich history and art of Iran over centuries has always inspired the creation of many works of art, unfortunately in recent years, we have witnessed the distancing of this culture from the world. However, it seems that Iranian culture has found new ways to connect with the modern world, including the seventh art and the emergence of directors such as Abbas Kiarostami and Asghar Farhadi. It seems that the efforts of young artists like Amir Hossein Nouri create a chance to form a new path for more cultural connection. Khayyam’s song, which has a reflection on the philosophy of human life, can be the first step in this direction

Music, Semantics and the Art of Singing Amir Hossein Nouri a Singer for Today's World

Perhaps the middle decades of the twentieth century can be called the heyday of world music, the years when many artists in different countries immortalized their name in world art history by creating new styles. On the other hand, with the advent of the twentieth century and with the dramatic advancement of technology, individual creativity in various fields of art took another form that did not necessarily achieve better results from an artistic point of view. The music industry quickly shifted to a new kind of commercialization, and the power of advertising led to the emergence of a wide range of mid-level artists, but the lack of philosophy in creating works by a large number of all-inclusive artists reduced the meaning and permanence of their art. Which is still a going on and common issue. In this article, however, we will introduce you to an artist who presents his works from a different perspective.

Amir Hossein Nouri is an Iranian singer, composer, and musician.

At first glance, he is a master of singing with a unique tone of voice who has special skills in performing different styles of music and, like many new music figures, has recently emerged internationally. But by examining his previous works, we notice many differences in his works. Regardless of his mastery of performance and different vocal techniques or his high musical literacy, one can learn a lot more about him by examining the path he took, one can see progress in his composing, empiricism, using philosophical poems focusing on humanity and with themes such as hope along with years of humanitarian activities. You can mostly see charitable projects along the way he worked. He is the creator of a project called “White Dream” (a music project to give hope to children with certain diseases, working children, and children with physical disabilities) that gives him and his work a different identity.

In more than a decade, his artistic activities have slowly led him to become more influential. A view that, in his own words, “considers meaning and impact in the service of humanity before the music industry and the sale of his works.” After Four years, Amir Hossein Nouri composing new songs using the poems of great Iranian poets such as Hakim Omar Khayyam. , Rumi, Saadi, etc. which are going to get released in near future.

Works that seem to be made like the great names of his poets with a deep philosophy on life and mankind. If our definition of art is to achieve a semantic unity, then the artist is a perspective holder who blends the scattered components of the soul with beauty, and magically gives its sound to the body of art to achieve the birth of work in the world. For centuries, war, racial discrimination, social injustice, and many more things have deprived us of beautiful, united world culture.

Among the role of semantic artists in the era of human individualism, Artist has an influential role in conveying the meaning of unity to the collective identity of human beings. For this reason, Amir Hossein Nouri is one of those artists who can continue to influence this world.
